We wish we could bottle up and sell the excitement that comes with trying RealRyder for the first time! The smiling faces tell the story – check out these photos from the past weekend’s SCW Fitness MANIA in Philadelphia!

RealRyder is relatively new on the fitness block. Our history stems from the stationary bike – a rigid, locked-down pedaling machine. And its basic design still hasn’t changed much after twenty years. Enter the RealRyder® ABF8: you get a true sense of the road with its unique, articulating frame that allows it to steer, lean, and feel like an actual road bike.

We know how difficult it is to go back to your stationary bikes after you’ve tried RealRyder! That first time you try it and you feel yourself moving beyond pedaling; the steering, the leaning, the balancing, the mental involvement, and the emotional excitement. You’ll want to replicate that experience in all your indoor cycling classes!

Our mission is to share RealRyder with as many people as we can! Maybe we should put the bikes on a bus and tour this great nation, calling ourselves The RealRyder Rockstars! Or maybe we’ll just stick with what we’re good at – trade shows and fitness conventions, where we get to interact with rockin’ fitness professionals and club owners!

RealRyder will continue to be at great events all over the country this year! Check out some of the great events we’re participating in, like SCW Fitness’ Mania Conventions and the The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), just to name a few!

Have you recently tried RealRyder? Have you been teaching for a year? Or more? We would love to hear your experience or memories with RealRyder (the title of the post!). Please share your thoughts and stories!

RealRyder cycling is different. Our indoor cycling program is different. Our bike is different. No other indoor bike has our “Ryde”! RealRyder Cycling adds a level of excitement through innovation that can energize any existing cycling program. There are unlimited programming options for offering a unique riding experience that will be enjoyed by people of all fitness levels, interests and backgrounds.

One of the questions we often receive is from our teachers and studio owners is “How do I find or make the elevation maps for class?”. We enlisted a few of our instructors to answer this question. After putting our heads together we came up with three great sources for inspiration.

Ryde it Real Tool #3: Use Your Favorites Races!

The major races, like the Tour de France, offer comprehensive imagery and profiles for each stage of the race. CYKL, a RealRyder studio in Canada, simulated the entire Tour de France last year, complete with leaderboards, jerseys, footage of the race, and of course celebratory champagne! Use the tools found on race websites to excite your class participants and offer them an experience they will never forget. Some of our favorites to get you started are the Tour de France, USA Cycling, and here in RealRyder country we have SoCal Cycling.

Tell us about your inspirations for riding indoors! A parting shot from CYKL in Canada, to get your creative juices flowing!

Ryde it real. Teach it real. It’s time to take the training wheels off!

We talk a lot about our stationary bike being on the road and this last weekend saw RealRyder stationary bikes at two different locations. First at the SCW show Atlanta MANIA, where we were running our popular indoor cycling classes and also at the Velodrome in Trexlertown, PA. Look out for a report on Atlanta MANIA in a later post!

On Friday evening MultiSport Fitness who run a very successfull RealRyder Indoor Cycling Studio in Mt Bethel, PA took 3 of our stationary bikes to the velodrome to demo the bikes which are revolutionizing indoor cycling.

The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is the national velodrome and puts on exciting track racing, which always attracts world class racers and a very knowledgable crowd. So we were particularly interested to hear what people thought of our stationary bike.

MultiSport Fitness are a fun group to work with, they are always enthusiastic and the combination of the cool looking RealRyders and the friendly MSF team quickly drew a crowd.

There were a lot of comments that the RealRyder stationary bike feels much more like riding a real bike than other indoor bikes or spinning bikes. It was also very encouraging to hear so many positive comments, from some experienced track and road riders, about how the bike was fun to ride and gave a great workout.

Just to balance things up we had some less experienced riders, who quickly got over any initial nerves and told us they could feel their confidence growing after only a few minutes, with the excellent coaching from the MSF instructors. This is a common theme with people who are riding a RealRyder for the first time, it does feel different riding a stationary bike that leans, but most people get comfortable with the sensational and start to have fun with it very quickly!

The Velodrome is great family entertainment, so is a good match with MSF who also run indoor cycling classes for the kids! Below are the next generation of budding Trackies and Triathletes from the MSF iRyde Classes.

We even had Red Robin the track mascot swing by and take a quick spin on our stationary bike, look out for some great video of this!

This evening really captured what RealRyder Indoor Cycling is all about, our unique stationary bike is a great training tool for everyone from the most serious athletes to complete beginners taking their first steps to getting in shape. It is a very versatile piece of fitness equipment that can provide the most challenging cardio workout and yet still appeal to someone looking for a fun fitness class.

For Velodrome regulars MultiSport Fitness is only about 45 miles from T-Town in Upper Mt Bethel, so call  Jenn on 570-987-7933 and book a class! Alternatively, check out the facility finder on our site and try the RealRyder stationary bike for yourself and experience the bike that is revolutionizing indoor cycling, but a word of warning your ordinary spin class may seem a little “flat” afterwards!

Choosing the right fitness equipment for a good cardio workout can be daunting. There are so many choices of good fitness equipment on the market, that it can be difficult knowing where to start.

Two of the most popular choices are ellipticals and stationary bikes. Both are low impact and give you a great cardio workout and with the elliptical you are also working more muscle groups than with a traditional stationary bike. However, a RealRyder stationary bike will also work your upper body and core muscles, due to its articulating frame and ability to lean! I am not personally a big fan of treadmills as a choice of cardio fitness equipment, simply because it is easier (and more enjoyable?) to actually run! Running is not as affected by weather or darkness as say cycling.

Many manufacturers make two grades of fitness equipment, for commercial use or home gyms, but often the home fitness equipment is not as well built. Commercial fitness equipment is engineered to stand up to the heavy use it will get in a gym or fitness club, whereas the consumer versions often look like they have been built down to a price and are much less sturdy or durable.

We don’t take this approach at RealRyder, the stationary bike we sell for home use is indentical to the ones you will see in any RealRyder Indoor Cycling Studio. We don’t believe in making a cheaper piece of fitness equipment that will start to wear out quickly or feels less stable. We want you to have many years of happy training from your stationary bike, so we build fitness equipment which will last!

One last point is that whatever fitness equipment you choose should be enjoyable to use! You will only get good results if you train regularly and this may be one of the biggest advantages of our leaning stationary bike. It is a lot of fun to ride and much more stimulating than some other types of fitness equipment!

So if you are looking for great cardio fitness equipment, take a look at our stationary bike!
