Steve had heard that a gym in Morristown, NJ had the RealRyder bike and went up to have a look for himself. He rides casually with a local cycling club, but his office hours often dictate that his workouts are early in the morning or late at night, even on the most beautiful days. So a stationary bike is definitely in the cards. Here were his first impressions:
I’ve got a rig in my basement which I park my bike in for workouts. It gets so boring that I plug my iPod in, and run old race videos on the television, and have the newspaper on hand just to keep it interesting.
The first time I saw the RealRyder, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Okay, a stationary bike that moves…so how much can it really move?
I have to say, on first look I was impressed by the solidity of the thing. It’s rock solid and appears to have more solid construction compared to some other kinds of stationary bikes I’ve seen. I immediately had the sense that the RealRyder was something quite different. When I gave it a push from the side, I was floored at how it moved. A friend had tried to describe how it works, but when I saw it in action, I realized it’s not as simple as leaning left to right.
The way they have the thing set up, it actually moves very much like a real bike. It’s moving on two axes. I never would have expected this.
I stopped by the gym up there on my way to other meetings, so I didn’t have any shoes to clip in with. I was kicking myself for not bringing my shoes. But just seeing this bike and studying the movements of it was enough to realize that I am simply going to love getting a solid cardio workout on it.
Basement riding is boring me to tears on my current rig. The RealRyder will definitely spice up my basement workouts. A trainer at the gym said it’s also good for working more of the core muscles that a stationary bike misses.
Living in the Northeast, one never knows if the weather forecast is right and I’m certainly ready to have a better backup plan. The RealRyder looks like a good bet.
So, if you’re looking for a stationary bike that will help keep your workout regimen interesting, you can do no better then RealRyder. Check out our facility link on the right and give it a try at a gym near you.
On May 1st MultiSport Fitness are having their Grand Opening in Mt Bethel, PA! This will be the first official RealRyder Indoor Cycling facility in Pennsylvania. We started to tell you the story earlier this week. It was Jennifer and Matt Fleischer (the owners) who flew 2,800 miles just to try our stationary bike!

That is just one chapter in what is an amazing story, that famous flight was in February and it was only after they returned from the trip, that they made the big decision to go ahead with the RealRyder studio, so really they have pulled this whole thing together in just two months!
That includes, funding, equipment, staffing, website design, marketing and last, but certainly not least gutting and renovating the building! Luckily Matt is in the construction business and they already had their building, but everything else you will see at the opening, including the full renovation of the space has happened since February.

These pictures show the metamorphosis that took place and I can only say if these guys can transform a human body as quickly as they have transformed this building, we can expect to see some seriously fit people in PA by the summer!
They will be running a variety of different style classes to appeal to different groups from “Rock-n-Ryde” (lively and fun to bring in new riders) to “RoughRyde” (aimed at road, track and mountain bike riders, lots of cycling lingo – carving turns, high cadence, climbing the “Jacobsberg” serious, but fun!). They even have classes catering to the two ends of the age range with “SilverRyde” and “iRyde” and an interesting combination of cycling/toning/yoga called “PowerRyde”.
Their website describes all these classes in detail together with some great promotions and specials and other usefull information about MultiSport Fitness – just click their logo.
This is a great cycling area, with some good local clubs and the Velodrome at T-Town nearby. I suspect this studio is going to very popular with track and road riders, plus with the variety of classes they have a wider appeal as well.
After your ride, sorry ryde, you can get coffee and even a massage if you need it at the Sandalwood Spa next door! Apart from the great package the whole team is very enthusiastic and they are genuinely nice people, so I don’t know what else I can tell you. You will get great workouts here and have fun doing them!
Oh there is one last thing I nearly forgot – guys have you ever been “chicked”? Don’t worry it doesn’t hurt and it’s not really that bad, but the word is in popular use at MultiSport so it could happen here!
So try and make the Grand Opening on Saturday and definitely check out the studio if you want to take your indoor cycling to another level or if you are looking to try out a RealRyder stationary bike. You won’t be disappointed on either count!

I had to share this picture with you “Indoor Cycling Italian Style”! Taken at an event last year – love it!

Fitness Industry Gurus rode the RealRyder stationary bike at one of our popular Indoor Cycling Classes at the recent IHRSA Trade Show in San Diego. They were obviously impressed and wrote a very positive review, this is what they thought!
Fitness Industry Gurus’ Thoughts on the ABF8 Stationary Bike
“After taking a 45 minute moderately paced class on the Real Ryder at the IHRSA convention this year, I was very impressed.
The bike is built like a tank and is extremely stable. The 66lb fly wheel spun smoothly as I pedaled at a high speed. It has many adjustments to gain maximum comfort.
The most exciting part was the side to side leaning. At first I felt like I can tip the bike, but after doing it two or three times I realized that this is a very stable piece. Pedaling at high speeds in a standing position, while keeping the bike straight really triggered my core muscles unlike the traditional group bike.
This bike adds core stabilization and excitement to group cycling. With a price tag $1995 I highly recommend this bike for any fitness environment. It is functional, durable, and most of all FUN!!”
This is the full review titled “Real Ryder Vs. Traditional Group Cycling” and as you can see they like the build quality, the performance and the fun factor of our stationary bike!
Indoor cycling is a great way to lose weight and as proved by Elise Marmon the RealRyder stationary bike is the ideal tool for anyone who is serious about weight loss. The movement of the bike creates a much more active ride and by recruiting the upper body and core muscles it is possible to burn up to 1,000 calories per hour, approximately 30% more than on a conventional stationary bike.
Elise has set a very high standard (she has lost over 50 lbs since last fall!), but now we are interested in finding the next “Elise” someone who is equally serious about weight loss and prepared to put in the hard work to achieve their target weight. One other thing we should tell you is we are looking for someone who can lose 100 lbs!
It needs to be done using a RealRyder and by natural means i.e. diet and exercise only (no surgical procedures). So if you or someone you know is committed to losing 100 lbs please let us know.

This is a serious challenge, but also a great opportunity for anyone who really wants to get in shape and lose the weight. Are you up for the challenge? Are you prepared to put in the hours on our stationary bike to get lean? We would love to hear from you if you are!
This could be you leaning over a Stationary Bike!
